Pangaea River Guides:
A Class Apart From All Others
What Makes Pangaea's Guides So Much Fun?
The Hardest Working Guides in the Business - They wake up early, go through days and
days of training and they love every wet and muscle straining moment.
The Finest Guides In the Business - we actually practice games to play with you during our
training. We love what we do and it shows because your guide treats you like a guest, not a customer.
We Can't Keep Them Off the River: what do our guides do after they raft with you? They usually
get back on the river. Talk about passion! We can't keep them off the river.
Read below and discover what all they hype is about.
David Lawrence
David Lawrence, the owner of Pangaea River Rafting shares a special life with his kids and amazing
wife Brooke. They split time working as raft guides in the summer in Montana and living in Winthrop,
Washington working as cross country ski instructors in the winter. David Lawrence is a team member of
the PSIA National Nordic Team.
An avid reader, you may hear David quoting literature, reciting poems or who knows what else. He's got a
special knack for kids and loves leading team building programs on the water. Born in Chesapeake, Virginia,
David hasn't lost is southern manners. You might hear "Yes mam" and "No mam" on the river just before charging
full steam ahead into the big Clark Fork River whitewater.
Mandela van Eeden
Mandela grew up on a private nature preserve at the most southern point of South Africa. Growing
up she spent a season in Africa, a season in America & a season traveling the world with her
flight attendant mother.
Due to an early childhood studying the Australian Aboriginal culture, Mandela started playing the didjeridu at
age 8. In '05 Mandela started Montana’s only travel talk show, “The Mandela Experience”. Since '05 the show has
spotlighted over 200 cultures. Mandela presents adventure lectures biannually at the University of Montana on her
unorthodox world travels & she hopes to have her own Travel Channel show one day.
Instructing whitewater kayaking, rafting & river rescue since 2008, Mandela continues to travel the world
playing the didjeridu. Mandela's rafts are known for live music in between rapids as she is never without a
didjeridu & fairy wings.

Allison Murray
Allison Murray originally hails from colorful Colorado, but now calls Missoula, Montana home. She attended
the University of Montana earning a degree in Liberal Studies and is currently finishing another degree in the
French language (please read "very smart)".
Allison began her rafting career many seasons ago in California. After working on several rivers in
Montana and Idaho, rafting has become a seasonal way of life. When she's not rafting or studying French
(which isn't often) you can find her on some "Alison" adventure. Recently, she endeavored to ride a bicycle down
the American west coast.
If you press her, she might tell you that her rafting trips inspire and restore natural vitality and knit the
fabric of family bonds. That's how a smarty says, "I'm wicked fun!"
